What Is InMode FX?

InMode FX is a medical device that can reduce fat cells while also providing skin tightening.

Heat generated by RF energy acts on fat cells deep within the skin and promotes apoptosis. Apoptosis is the natural death of cells that occurs to help tissues made up of groups of cells reach a better state. RF energy also generates heat in the dermal layer, producing a skin-tightening effect. A major feature of InMode FX is that it can provide both fat reduction and skin tightening at the same time.

InMode FX uses RF energy, allowing treatment without injuring the body. Although RF energy works to destroy fat cells, it rarely damages tissues other than fat cells. This technology can be considered highly safe.

InMode FX also includes MiniFX for the face, which is used for facial contouring, and BodyFX for the body. The mechanism is the same, but the device differs depending on the treatment area, so please choose according to your purpose.

How InMode FX Reduces Fat

InMode FX heats the treatment area to 40℃, causing fat cells to swell. Enlarging the fat cells puts them in a state that makes them easier to destroy. Once the fat cells have enlarged, an approximately 2,000-volt current is delivered instantaneously to destroy them. This method can destroy fat cells located up to a depth of 2.5㎝.

The InMode FX Treatment and Its Effects

The actual treatment is performed using a handpiece. The handpiece has two electrodes and suctions the tissue in the treatment area between them. This makes it possible to deliver RF energy thoroughly to a wide area of fat cells.

RF energy is delivered to the tissue suctioned and held inside the handpiece, warming it to approximately 40–43℃. This promotes the swelling and dissolution of fat cells. At the same time, applying heat to the skin produces a skin-tightening effect.

After the fat cells have been heated and sufficiently enlarged, a 2,000-volt current is delivered instantaneously to induce apoptosis, which destroys the fat cells.

This concludes the treatment itself. However, following the induction of apoptosis, several tens of percent of the fat cells in the treatment area are gradually eliminated from the body as waste products over several weeks, reducing the number of fat cells.
