Improving Acne Scar Texture and Pigmentation for More Even-Looking Skin

This client was concerned about post-acne hyperpigmentation and uneven skin texture and wanted to achieve smoother, clearer-looking skin with a more even tone. In this case, full-face subcision was performed in combination with isotretinoin.

Subcision targets fibrous bands beneath depressed acne scars, helping to improve the appearance of crater-like uneven texture. Isotretinoin was also incorporated to help reduce sebum production, while taking into consideration the client’s overall acne-prone skin condition.

Over the course of treatment, the post-acne hyperpigmentation appeared less noticeable and the uneven texture became smoother, resulting in a clearer and more refined overall skin appearance. The doctor assessed pigmentation and depressed acne scars separately and planned the treatment according to the individual skin condition. Results and recovery may vary between individuals.
