This client was concerned about uneven skin texture and excess sebum across the face and wanted to achieve smoother, more refined-looking skin. In this case, subcision, Dermapen treatment, and isotretinoin were combined to address multiple skin concerns.
Subcision targets fibrous bands beneath depressed acne scars, while Dermapen uses controlled microneedling to support the skin’s natural remodeling process. Isotretinoin was also incorporated to help reduce sebum production. By combining these approaches, the treatment plan addressed both uneven skin texture and excess oil production.
After treatment, the uneven texture appeared less noticeable, giving the overall skin a smoother and more refined appearance. The doctor assessed the depth and extent of the depressions as well as the condition of the skin and sebum production when planning the treatment. Results and recovery may vary between individuals.
