Double Eyelid Incision

While the non-incision method is common for double eyelid surgery, there are risks of the results returning to their original state over time, and depending on the eyelid condition and desired design, the ideal double eyelid may not be achieved.
Our "Double Eyelid Incision" method involves making an incision in the eyelid to achieve the desired design.
Additionally, issues like "thick and heavy eyelids" or "puffy appearance" can also be addressed simultaneously.

Recommended for the following people

  • Those seeking permanent double eyelid results

  • Those with excess fat or sagging eyelids

  • Those whose double eyelid line from non-incision methods disappears quickly

Achieve Your Ideal Look with a Wide Range of Designs

We offer a wide range of options to suit each patient's ideal look and facial balance. From natural double eyelids to bold, striking ones, the procedure is customized to your preferences. We suggest designs based on eye size, shape, and eyelid thickness, ensuring your desired eyelid appearance. There are various options available, including "parallel" and "angular" designs, depending on your preferences.

POINT3

Measures for Pain and Swelling

At each stage—preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative—we implement our unique measures. Before the surgery, we use anesthetic eye drops and perform local anesthesia injections to minimize pain during the procedure. Additionally, we use much thinner needles than usual for the local anesthesia to reduce injection pain as much as possible. It is said that the thinner the injection needle and the sharper it is, the less pain there will be. At LIVELY CLINIC, we use high-quality, fine needles and choose the appropriate needle for each injection site to minimize the patient's pain.

Surgical Method for Double Eyelid Creation (Incision Method)

In the incision method, a part or the entire length of the eyelid skin is incised, and the orbital septum is also cut.
The edge of the orbital septum is then sutured to the underside of the skin, and the skin is carefully stitched to create the double eyelid.

Which is Better: Incision Method or Buried Suture Method?

The buried suture method does not involve cutting the skin and uses threads to secure the eyelid, allowing for the advantage of reversibility.
Additionally, at our clinic, we use specialized techniques and patented ultra-fine surgical threads, making it more durable compared to the standard buried suture method.
However, depending on the condition of your eyelids, habitual tendencies, or desired crease line, there may be cases where it is prone to reversal or results may look unnatural.

For individuals with the following conditions, we may recommend the incision method over the buried suture method.

  • Excessive subcutaneous fat in the eyelids
  • Thick eyelid skin
  • Weak eye-opening strength
  • Desire for narrow or wide double eyelid folds (over 7mm)
  • Previous experiences where the buried suture method failed multiple times

We will suggest the most suitable option during your consultation, so feel free to reach out to us.

Advantages and Disadvantages of the Incision Method

Merits
  • Provides highly durable and semi-permanent results
  • Suitable for individuals with thick eyelid skin or fat, allowing them to achieve ideal double eyelids
Demerits
  • Longer downtime and a risk of visible scars
  • Difficult to revise the design after surgery

Which is better: incision or buried suture method?

The buried suture method does not require cutting the skin, and the eyelids are secured with threads, allowing for adjustments later.
At our clinic, we use special techniques and patented ultra-fine surgical threads, making them less likely to come undone compared to general buried suture methods.
However, depending on the condition of the eyelids, daily habits, or desired line, it may be easier to revert to the original state or result in unnatural outcomes.

For individuals meeting the following conditions, the incision method may be recommended over the buried suture method:

  • Excessive subcutaneous fat in the eyelids
  • Thick eyelid skin
  • Weak eyelid opening strength
  • Desire for a narrow or wide double eyelid line (7mm or more)
  • Previous experience with the buried suture method coming undone multiple times

Which method suits you better will be proposed during the consultation. Please feel free to ask for advice.

How long does it take for the scar to disappear?

A

The scar will be visible for about a month after surgery. It can take up to six months for the scar to completely heal, depending on the individual.

Q

Can I shower or take a bath immediately after surgery?

A

Yes, you can. However, please avoid getting the wound wet for the first three days after surgery.

Q

Is it possible to reverse the procedure even with the incisional method?
