Q
How long will double eyelids last?
A
The duration varies depending on the type of procedure and the condition of the eyelids. People with thicker eyelids tend to experience a higher likelihood of the double eyelid reverting, but there are cases where it lasts a lifetime. Since the condition of the eyelids changes with age, if you have concerns, please consult a clinic.
Q
How long does swelling subside after the procedure?
A
The extent of swelling varies from person to person, but it is common to experience swelling similar to that after crying for about 2–3 days. (In most cases, it can be concealed with glasses or makeup.) There are also procedures that cause less swelling, so please consult a clinic if this is a concern.
Q
How long is the downtime for double eyelid surgery?
A
For the suture method, significant swelling usually subsides within about a week. For the incision method, stitches are removed one week after the procedure, and major swelling improves in about one month. The final result for the incision method takes approximately six months after the surgery.
Q
I had surgery at another clinic. Can it be revised?
A
In most cases, revision is possible. However, it depends on your current condition, so an examination will be necessary.
