  • Subcision

There is a treatment that tackles acne scars that won't go away no matter what you do.

In many cases, crater-like acne scars are difficult to improve with superficial skincare or lasers alone.

Subcision is a treatment that separates the fibers deep within the skin that are causing the indentations, drawing out the skin's natural regenerative powers.

It is gaining attention as an alternative option for acne scars that have bothered you for years.

Recommended for people who

  • I'm concerned about uneven skin that can't be hidden with makeup.
  • I've been struggling with stubborn acne scars for years.
  • I want to improve my skin quality from the root.
  • I want to clear up scars and chickenpox scars.
  • I've tried Dermapen, Potenza, and fractional lasers many times, but nothing worked.

We will solve your concerns in the shortest time possible!

What is Subcision?

Subcision is a treatment that uses special medical needles (cannulas) to physically peel away the scar tissue that causes acne scars.
It is characterized by its ability to improve sunken craters by releasing adhesions between the dermis and fascia deep within the skin.
Developed in 1995, this treatment is now an established technique used in cosmetic dermatology clinics around the world.
It has been medically proven to be highly effective, particularly for wavy, rolling acne scars.
Subcision's greatest feature is its ability to directly address adhesions deep within the skin that are difficult to reach with laser treatments.

Types of Scars Suitable for Subcision

  • Rolling Type

    (gentle depressions)

  • Ice Pick Type

    (deep into the dermis)

  • Boxcar Type

    (flat-bottomed depressions)

Subcision is particularly effective for rolling acne scars with an opening of 4mm or larger that are saucer-shaped depressions.

This treatment is especially recommended for those who have not seen significant improvement with other methods.

Combination of Subcision and Hyaluronic Acid Injection

By combining subcision with hyaluronic acid injections into the areas where the skin's adhesions (dermal layer) have been released, the depressions caused by acne can be lifted.

Hyaluronic acid, commonly used for treating wrinkles and nasolabial folds, can be injected under acne scars to prevent re-fibrosis and enhance the effects of subcision.

When hyaluronic acid injections and subcision are combined, the following benefits can be expected:

  • Prevents re-adhesion of the treated areas.
  • Lifts the depressions caused by acne.
  • Stimulates collagen production.
  • Treat deep acne scars and uneven pores for smooth skin!

Although the injected hyaluronic acid will be absorbed by the body in about six months, your own tissue will regenerate and replace it, so the effect will not completely disappear after six months.

In addition to subcision, we offer other treatments for acne scars such as microneedling (Dermapen) and oral medications to control acne. Our clinic will propose the best treatment plan based on the condition of your skin.

For those who are worried about pain

At our clinic, we offer a wide range of anesthesia methods, including cream anesthesia, laughing gas anesthesia, block anesthesia, and intravenous anesthesia, and we strive to make treatment as painless as possible.
Before treatment, we provide a thorough consultation and answer any concerns or questions you may have, so you can undergo treatment with peace of mind.
