Epicanthoplasty

Epicanthoplasty is a procedure that involves cutting the skin covering the inner corner of the eyes (epicanthal fold) to widen the eyes horizontally and make them appear larger.
This surgery also helps improve the typical puffy eyelids in Asians and creates a more defined eye area, bringing the facial features closer to the golden ratio (1:1:1).

Recommended for the following people

  • Those troubled by wide-set eyes

  • Those who want to enlarge their eyes horizontally

  • Those who want to achieve a more parallel double eyelid

POINT1

POINT2

Inconspicuous Scars

At LIVELY CLINIC, inner corner eyelid surgery is carefully sutured, making scars less likely to remain and resulting in a natural and gentle eye area. The scars from inner corner eyelid surgery are not noticeable even without makeup, so it is difficult for others to notice that you’ve had the procedure.

POINT3

Natural Finish Tailored to the Shape of Your Eyes

Inner corner eyelid surgery not only removes the epicanthic fold but also considers the shape of the eyes and the overall balance. At LIVELY CLINIC, we offer careful consultations to understand your desires and provide a natural design that suits the individual balance of your eyes and face.

Surgical Method for Medial Canthoplasty

Medial canthoplasty involves making a Z-shaped incision of several millimeters in the epicanthal fold and suturing it. This minimally invasive method allows for faster recovery and shorter downtime while bringing the inner corners of the eyes closer to your desired shape.
By reducing the distance between the eyes, it is effective in correcting wide-set eyes. It can also help achieve a more defined and contoured facial appearance with a well-defined nasal bridge.

Advantages and Disadvantages of the Incision Method

Merits
  • Improves wide-set eyes, creating a balanced eye shape
  • Expands the horizontal width of the eyes, achieving a larger appearance
  • Removes excess skin, making it easier to create parallel or wide double eyelids
Demerits
  • Requires stitch removal
  • Longer downtime due to the incision
  • Over-excision may result in an unnatural appearance
